July 2019  …. Well, Buoy 10 season on the Columbia River is just about ready to start again.   Guides are moving their boats to the Astoria / Hammond area for another season.

It’s going to be an interesting year.  The Chinook numbers are probably going to be down from last year but the Coho numbers seem to be the best we have seen in many years.   This year you are allowed 2 Salmon per day with 1 being a Chinook.  So you can have either 2 Coho per day or 1 Coho and 1 Chinook per day.  I’m anticipating that boat limits will be the norm for the 2019 season.

Although days are filling up quickly there are still a number of prime dates available.   Call me and let’s get you on the calendar … this is going to be a fun season.

August 2018 ….. My ocean salmon and Buoy 10 guide season is off to a great start. I got home last week from Alaska and have been fun fishing with family and friends. Both ocean salmon and Buoy 10 fishing have been nothing short of spectacular! It doesn’t seem to matter what salmon bait you are using, anchovies or herring, these fish are attacking whatever you put in front of them. These pictures are from the last 4 days of fishing. There are tons of big fat coho and many nice kings in the ocean. There are also some good numbers of kings showing up in the river at Buoy 10. It looks to be a great run of fish and most likely more than forecasted.
