We are doing ocean salmon fishing the rest of July. We fish out in the ocean off the Columbia River chasing acrobatic Coho and line peeling kings! This is normally a fun action packed fishery. Fishing off the Columbia is on FIRE the coho are stacked out there and its none stop action we are also starting to see a few kings mixed in we fished today and we got our limit very easy and limits or the normal thing for ocean salmon. JULY 30TH, 31ST – OPEN BOAT – 6 SEATS
August 1st kicks off the WORLD FAMOUS BUOY 10 salmon fishery out of the Astoria area. We normally fish in the ocean off the Columbia River for the first half of August due to the fact that the main volume of fish are staging off the river feeding on everything they can before they start their journey up the river. By mid August we are primarily in the river because the fish are starting to come into the river in large numbers by then. Our forecast for 2017 is nearly 600,000 kings and almost 400,000 coho. So we should see almost a million fish for 2017 Buoy 10 season. We get to keep any king 7 days a week this year and one hatchery coho per day or 2 hatchery coho and no king for a 2 fish per person per day limit. This is a great action packed month of fishing, so don’t miss out! We are only at Buoy 10 thru September 4th.
